Just back & still buzzing

What a superb performance against a team with probably five or ten times the budget we have and that was with a patched up team (injured keeper, injured centre half, centre half playing his first game of the season for us out of position and a 42 year old in midfield). And it wasn't just a back to the wall performance either, we had several excellent chances and particularly in the first half played some lovely stuff.
The commitment, the enthusiasm , the fitness and the team ethic was there in bundles .tackles and headers were won, but there was so much covering and helping out plus loads of little interceptions and cut outs.it was a real pleasure to watch.
True to say we rode our luck at times, a deflection onto the post and a Hopwood wonder save with his legs spring to mind, but we had chances none more so than Feyis in the last minute.
For me Ken epitomizes this new AUFC .he is everywhere and non stop, but is strong and has pace and skill to match.he really does lead from the front (compare and contrast with Berry last year, for example).
Ball was superb again whilst Bewley matched him on the other side having his best game in ages. Derek Feyi had a huge (I use that word deliberately, the man is a beast!) game ,looked like a natural and just slotted in like he had been there for years. If Doc was injured then he's going to be immense when he is fit!
In midfield Riddick was busy but passing was a bit awry at times, but it's possible he was simply outshone by the outstanding Hogg and Williams . Greg was a huge presence, as good as he was last season, whilst Hogg seems to have moved up another level in terms of his skill and attacking prowess. Sidney got injured early on, having looked quite lively, but the introduction of Sonny just made us look even better, he had a great game and really looks like he's enjoying playing in this revitalised team.
Brilliant support as usual, who didn't shut up and gave the team the backing they deserved.
MOtm was Ollie Hogg ( just)
Ben must be a very proud manager tonight. They are doing him and us proud with this level of performance
