This season's squad
« on: August 28, 2009, 12:26:07 PM »
Luke,

Busy boy that you are, and appreciating the details you may have on our new players are quite scant, but is there any chance of getting a little introduction to the team so we can start to build up our knowledge of them a little more.

Details about their past playing history, preferred position, etc would be helpful.  I know you have the profiles pages, but there isn't a lot to go on at the moment.

Also, as part of the match day programme, or even for the site, how about having a featured player each game/week, where we can get to know them a little more?

Good post Ian. Although Luke is very busy at the moment, I'm sure he will take on board your comments.

Good points, trouble is, I know about as much as you with regards to the new players!

I'm also very busy at work (busiest time of year for me, school ICT) so don't have a lot of time for chasing such information.

What we need is a volunteer... any one want to come forward and do 'interviews' with the players to get some details. We could then run it in the programme, like Alan McPherson's excellent player bios used to be.

I could have a go Luke.
I'll look at other clubs programmes and design some kind of form which would make it a lot easier. :-\

If we are going to do something like that, why not ask for questions from the fanbase that they would like to see asked of players?  Not just your usual run of the mill ones, perhaps a few wacky ones to try to get inside the personality of the players.

Then all it would need is for a standard question sheet to be made up and handed to all the players, with the results trickled into the programmes or on the website as the season progresses.

I don't mind chipping in if I can, Luke.

Taking on Ians point, I'm sure we could come up with a few lighthearted questions, I could run off a few copies @ work for distribution amongst the players.
