Early indications are that Ty is battered and bruised, but no broken bones, which we should all be thankful for.  Wishing him a speedy and full recovery.  What has gone rather unnoticed is that he was to be shown a red card for his challenge by the referee when he had got to his feet.  Obviously that didn't happen due to his injury, but the red card will stand.

As to the outcome of the game, that rests with the Southern League to decide, iaw the rules of the competition.  We await their adjudication.

Difficult one, really the result should stand as the game was pretty much over, but I'm sure we'd jump at the chance to replay it!

Really hoping Ty is ok!

Game abandoned according to the Southern League website. That makes sense to me, but our players seemed to have been left with the impression that the referee had just blown up a couple of minutes early? One would imagine that the result will stand either way as we were well into stoppage time even before the injury...

Lots of players unfortunately had an off day at the same time today. It happens. We really gifted Biggleswade their goals, although they were probably the better side anyway and deserving winners.

Most importantly, best wishes to Ty Deacon, hopefully he's ok.

Further to Erika's message about paying in advance or on the day with correct money, all attending are expected to wear a mask at all times inside the ground.  Please ensure if you are travelling that you have one with you (unless you are exempt from wearing a mask)

I know this is specifically about the game at the weekend but is the mask issue done on a club by club basis ?

We are seeing a wide range of published guidelines at all clubs we are visiting this year, some enforced more than others.  We have to respect these guidelines, they are based on their own risk assessments of their grounds and national guidance.

Enforcement should be respected also, remembering these are volunteers (like our own) trying to strike a balance between allowing you all to enjoy a game in safety and comfort.

So the answer is yes, then ?

I just needed clarity on what the situation was, as with everything else regarding covid, the message is usually inconsistent. I am curious as to why I have a lecture about respect. I wont be attending games if I have to wear a mask for two hours.

It wasn't a lecture about respect at all, I would hope anyone with a modicum of common sense could understand that football clubs at our level are run by volunteers trying to do their best to provide football for the supporters.  You are right, every club will interpret the guidance in the way they think appropriate, so variations will occur.

There's a full set of stadium guidelines on the Biggleswade website.

Given we don't have to wear face coverings at Chesham it looks like it's an additional measure those responsible for the running of the stadium at Biggleswade have decided to introduce on top of the measures all clubs have to have in place.

It's a shame you don't feel you can attend games at stadiums where face coverings are required. No-one likes wearing them but they are, hopefully, a means to an end at the moment.

Hi Jim

I am the manager of the U18 team that plays in the Wycombe and South Bucks Minor League.

We are very much a mixed ability squad aiming to provide football for as many boys as possible.

Around 10 of the squad attend Bucks Sport Academy during the week and BSA have a team in the Tactic League that play as Aylesbury United. BSA provides a proven pathway to senior football (i.e the first team) as is evidenced by the number of ex students currently in our first team squad.

We looked at providing midweek floodlit football this past summer however given the club’s current predicament it just wasn’t practical or particularly affordable.

As well as providing football for as many boys as possible my aim as U18 manager is to give my players a foundation to ensure they continue playing football as adults. This may not necessarily be for Aylesbury United but if the vast majority are still playing in their mid 20s I’ll consider it job done!

The U18s next game is a tough home game against Holmer Green Rangers on Sunday 1st November, 10.30 kick off at Fairford Leys.
