That would be great Ian, thanks! I’ve heard from other tog contacts that Yaxley takes the same approach but that most clubs up and down the pyramid are still happy to have media pitchside. Most clubs seem keener to keep their fans safe with temperature checks, hand sanitiser stations and a ban on touching stray balls.

Corby banned all three photographers from pitchside (which, of course, they are entitled to do). We were able to shoot from behind the barriers but this involved standing among supporters for much of the time and is far from ideal. There was very little evidence of social distancing among the crowd yesterday (and hardly any facemasks). Given that I’m 70 I chose not take a chance. Apologies to players and fans but I’ll be back in action on Tuesday. COYD!

No need to apologise Mike, I hope this isn't the case at many of our matches this season, but I will make a point of checking for you in advance.

Steve, even funnier than the tannoy announcement was the fact that everyone ignored him! I think it was aimed at the home supporters who swapped ends at half-time; not one moved when asked.

Regarding the team performance, let nobody be under any doubt that we deserved the win against a good side who did not have an “off day”. We were VERY good - well drilled, disciplined, skilful, energetic.

First time I’ve seen Riddick play (and pay attention; last week was just catching up with mates in the sun 😀). What a wonderful defensive midfield performance he put in yesterday. He gave the defence the protection I felt they have lacked for several seasons and his presence seems to have freed Ollie Hogg to play a more expansive role.

Special mentions for the keeper - great verbal marshalling of the defence and confident dealing of crosses in testing conditions; Max Hercules for phenomenal work rate and beautiful technique; Ty Deacon for the best performance I have seen from him (including when I have seen him play for a couple of other teams); great 20 minutes from the sub - looked easily good enough to start.

Finally, back at yer Mr D. Look forward to catching up soon.

Lee Stobbs mate, an excellent addition and a nice bloke to match. As he said on twitter. What a group,  couldn't of said it better myself.

Not only a fantastic win but a fantastic performance as well. Sometimes you go away to the 'big' teams and sneak a lucky win. This definitely wasn't the case as, at the very least we were just as good as Corby and ,based on real chances, we were the better team.

Massive congrats to Ben Mike and every single player who were all magnificent.

When you factor in that Weathers played his first 90 minutes for us, Harry Jones had to be drafted into right back and DOC played despite only having 20 minutes of pre-season under his belt it makes the result even more impressive.

I agree re the Covid rules which seem to be interpreted differently by clubs. My favourite was at the start of the second half when the tannoy man asked all supporters to go back to standing where they had been in the first half! Never heard of that rule before.

G&W - doesn’t take 10 mins to write “Was crap, no effort, useless (ad nauseum)” 😀.

One serious observation to make about yesterday’s game, was that there was no sanitising of the ball when it went out of play. Supporters were simply picking the ball up and throwing back onto the pitch. Anyone know what the official guidelines around this?

:) :). Check out John Durham on twitter. Very balanced article. Have to agree no temperature checks etc. Can't believe Mike wasn't allowed to take pictures but other were.

What a great result ....buzzing only disappointment that I choose to miss the game as did many others cos of covid . Also , it would have meant seeing MLC at two consecutive games which hasn't happened for a while
..love the geezer . Congrats to squad , Ben & co and those fans who went . Can't wait for Tuesday.
