It is frustrating to see players who we rate so highly not do themselves justice from the spot but let's take the positives out of last night:-

1. What a game to be involved in. We'll be talking about that for years to come.

2. That's 270 minutes of open play without defeat so far this season with only two goals conceded in those minutes.

3. What a team performance we're going to get against Wantage next week. The boys will be raring to go after last night.

It would help us fans if Ben might give us some views regarding pens. As Luke said 5 years is too long. Is it a skill that can be coached or a fear of failure ?

....cos we pick the wrong penalty takers ! Juwon was the only player that went up looking confident the rest the least said . Ben in my opinion should tell Juwon the jobs his wether he misses or scores for the season . The rest can ......

I just don't know how we can be so bad at penalties, for so long. It's been at least 5 years since I felt truly confident that we'd score every time we won one.

Wish they'd been as efficient on the pitch as they were off it! Can't remember when I've been more frustrated by watching the ducks.
Caused our own downfall and threw away much needed cash.
Dangled an unnecessary leg for a stupid pen, let an attacker turn 180 degrees in the box and then paid the penalty by  deflecting his shot for an own goal, coz they were still standing off to far. Then a series of bloody awful penalties. Must've been a classic for the neutral but I just found it intensely frustrating.
Riddick, Hogg and french were excellent and Jamie Rudd improved us when he came on.just to repeat an old Graham refrain from a couple of seasons ago 'we need a centre forward'!!!

For anyone concerned about Covid regulations I must say how well the club managed it against Long Crendon.  Registration is straight forward, entry was quick and easy, there's plenty of room to space out in the ground and if you do venture in to the bar it's well organised and safe.

Just a reminder for all to register ahead of today's match against Moneyfields.

After a good win in the last round and an outstanding result in the first league match of the season at Corby on Saturday, let's get behind the lads as they strive to progress and bring much needed FA Cup prize money to the club.

There is no match planned for the coming weekend, so the next opportunity for a football fix will be on Wed 30th Sep at home to Wantage.
