2 years? The initial build only needs to be as good as somewhere like Kidlington for Step 4. You could have that up in 6-8 months surely? Especially if the original golf club buildings are still there for dressing rooms etc (are they?).

Yep. Something basic and functional should be quick. They won’t be building a conference stadium off the bat. 6-8 months would be comfortable timeframe

I would have thought that whatever is there currently in terms of the old club house it would need to be pulled down. Its been quite a few years of it standing there derelict and no doubt has suffered some vandalism. The new community centre in Berryfields (near the train station) took 7-8 months to build so I would have said your estimate would be about right.

A chink of light at the end of the tunnel!

Exactly. You only have to look around some other Step 4 clubs to realise the requirements are actually quite minimal, you can start with something quite basic and build it up over time.

All depens on how quick all party's agree. This could be a reality quicker
than you think!

doubt that tbh, as HS2 has many years to go. it then needs to be cleared up, turned over legally and then you've got the planning system  to negotiate plus the funding. After all that it would take a year or 2 to build

Shall we start a sweepstake ? I'm going 2035.......

I'll agree on 2 years to build  ;)
