Aylesbury United Discussion / Potential new sports facility in Aylesbury
« on: February 15, 2019, 11:45:17 AM »
Starting a new thread on this to keep the discussion in one place.

Aylesbury Town Council today passed a motion to support a new stadium in the town.

The council will now begin lobbying for a new sports facility which could host non-league football.

They will also set up a 'Stadium Working Group' to work with the local clubs.

Aylesbury United Discussion / Aylesbury FC to be relegated
« on: January 17, 2019, 10:02:35 AM »
Due to the size of the changing rooms for players and officials.  Although this rule has been known for a while why do the FA continue to implement these rules that do nothing but damage and punish clubs?

Looking forward to this.  A decent ground and a big crowd.  It's going to feel a bit like the old days again.

We've been deducted 3 points for fielding an ineligible player on 23rd January.  Any idea who?

Aylesbury United Discussion / New signing: Matt Peake-Pijnen
« on: February 22, 2018, 02:12:19 PM »
Interesting signing and on the face of it he looks decent.  Played a few games at higher levels and chips in with the odd goal.  Can also cover a few positions.  It feels like a few months ago we wouldn't make signings like this.

Aylesbury United Discussion / New 'keeper
« on: February 09, 2018, 12:40:44 PM »
Welcome to the club, Hoppy!  I've seen a lot of this lad at Tring and we've got ourselves a decent keeper with a lot of potential.  He's still a young lad and has more to learn (especially at this level) but I'm sure we'll see the best of him.

Aylesbury United Discussion / AFC Dunstable
« on: October 26, 2017, 10:49:08 AM »
Good performance last night.  A lot of passion and desire shown from all.  AFC Dunstable have had a good season so far so to match them was pleasing.  So nearly nicked it at the end but for a fine save by their keeper.

Aylesbury United Discussion / BBC mention for Ducks and Wood brothers
« on: August 17, 2017, 10:12:13 AM »
The Beeb have an FA Cup preview for this weekend and there's a brief mention about our game on Saturday.

If you can't be bothered here's what it says  :)

Brothers in arms
When ninth-tier Leverstock Green entertain Aylesbury United on Saturday, brothers Shane and Jack Wood are expected to be on opposing sides - as captains. Shane, 29, is skipper of Spartan South Midlands Premier Division Leverstock, while younger brother Jack, 25, is captain of Aylesbury, who play in the eighth-tier Southern League Division One Central.

I know we've not long finished last season but any news on up coming friendlies?  I've only seen one confirmed elsewhere, 'home' to Tring Athletic on Wednesday 26th July.
