Aylesbury United Discussion / Reaction from Wantage match.
« on: January 23, 2022, 09:12:56 AM »
I was at home following the game, I was disappointed like many others with the result.
I have watched a good number of games over the years and offer these thoughts.
1) Form is not a constant.   2) Team overall performance and motivation are prime drivers for success.
3) Availability of players who have played together before.

So my count of unavailable/ injured player for Sat, was 7, Max, Sonny, Ben, Lee, Jamie, Gavin and Junayd. I have not included the players on duel registration and the three 18 yr olds.
We had to sign 2 players on morning of the match, remember.

Please keep the faith Up the Ducks

Aylesbury United Discussion / Win at AFC Dunstable.
« on: October 30, 2021, 06:58:15 PM »
I was not to confident when I heard the team, but what a great surprise. Jake doing a good job instead of the injured Jack, Max scoring the free kick by performing the skill, the team pressing more aggressively up the pitch and at last beating AFC. A well deserved result and a great boost for the group of walkers for their effort today

Aylesbury United Discussion / Ben Hodges at Holmer Green

Wanting a game I went to Holmer Green and in the 10 shirt was Ben. He made the assist for the second Holmer goal.

Aylesbury United Discussion / Women's team
« on: September 05, 2021, 05:39:02 PM »
Just back from Launton after watching the team hammer Launton 6-1. Overall a great start to the season after the disrupted year.
First match of the new season with the 9 of last season's players returning.
Welcome to Hayley Mackland, Samantha Thorpe and Chelsea Gurney who all played their part today.
Sammy Jackson with 4 goals, continuing her goal scoring form from last season, Amber Calmers with a thunderbolt free kick and a nice finish by Clare Knowler our scorers.
The defence of Sarah Putman, Samantha Thorpe, Jenny Lambie and Justine Riley was solid, cutting out runs by Launton.
The midfield 3 of Amber, Clare and Angela Lunnon providing good passes and cover for the defence.
Alice Hall starting in goal was reading the game situation very well coming out when required.
The forwards Sammy , Hayley and Catherine Wareham were all busy pressing the ball and hence the goal opportunities.

Aylesbury United Discussion / Didcot game
« on: August 14, 2021, 10:46:49 PM »
When I saw the team sheet I suspected we were going to have take ever small chance going. The pace provided by Bally and Max is too much for most teams as an example.
The after efforts in the first half I said to myself " it was going to be one of games"
Ben's interview with Paul was a good summary and the right conclusion.
 Onwards and upwards.
