I had a similar reaction to you Ian. Beaconsfield didn’t have the greatest season before null and void so did wonder if their ‘peak’ period was over.......

Good luck to him but I suspect given the amount of clubs he has had thus far that he may resurface somewhere else. Wasn’t it the season before last he played a couple of pre season games?

Aylesbury United Discussion / 21CD membership
« on: September 06, 2020, 03:16:07 PM »
21st Century Ducks (21CD) is Aylesbury United Supporters Trust and it has entered its 21st season in existence. Thank you to those who have supported 21CD with membership in the last 21 years, without you there probably wouldn't be a club to support!

Membership for this season is open and details about this can be found below.

21CD is the 2nd largest shareholder in the club and makes regular contributions to the club to be able to operate as it does. A member of the trust committee sits on the club board as a representatives from 21CD, so the trust very much has a voice. Current membership is made up of supporters from around the world. If you do live afar and are not members, this would be great way for you to support your club! If you used to have membership this would be the perfect opportunity to get back involved and ultimately help the club. If you have felt that your contribution would not make any difference.......it certainly would. Please see below reasons we are always looking for more members:

- To ensure the supporter’s voice is heard at board level to influence the direction of the club
- To provide a financial lifeline for the club through membership fees, other fundraising opportunities and to help keep 21CD functioning
- To decide how 21CD membership funds will be allocated to support the club
- To join the committee and help make decisions for the trust
- To provide a strong evidence base to show our local support and need to #BringTheDucksHome
- To bring ideas and initiatives for fundraising, raising the club profile and more
- To help support the club through volunteering opportunities e.g. stewarding or hosting a quiz night

Trust membership costs a minimum of £20 a season. This is the cost of attending just over 2 home matches a season. Many members choose to pay what they can afford via a monthly standard order (minimum of £3 a month). Please find below details about how to join:

1) Complete the membership form which can be found below and either email it or post it to Andy Martin (addresses on form) or alternatively hand it to Andy Martin at a game

2) Pay directly into the online account or set up a standing order using the account details below*

Account No: 84748133                   Sort Code: 60-17-43

Post a cheque (payable to 21st Century Ducks) or provide cash to Andy Martin at an upcoming game

Please note current members with standing orders in place do not need to do anything further unless your details have changed.

*in light of COVID-19 paying directly into online bank account is preferable as well as emailing/posting completed form.

50:50 draw

Another fantastic way of supporting the club is becoming a member of the 21CD 50:50 draw. This has been running for a number of years, and sees 50% of the proceeds go to the club. The scheme costs £5 a month and sees a monthly draw and prize of £100 to the monthly winner. More details about this can be found using the link below, including the application form.

If you are able to, and not already part of the scheme, please sign up.

Thanks to those who placed votes here or on Twitter. The combined results see scarves and face masks in joint 1st place so I will now look to suppliers and hopefully place orders, so more merchandise is available to purchase shortly.

If you would like a baseball cap or a winter hat please let me know as I will be bringing some (but not all) to the FA Cup game next week. I expect these to sell out quickly so get one whilst you can!

Just to add to this the road between the A41 and Chesham is closed between Ashley Green and Chesham. I was in Chesham yesterday and went that way and had to turn back and go cross country! Only ways in are cross country via Hyde Heath or Cholesbury or via Amersham

Not a ex duck but I see John Mills has signed for North Leigh. He scored a lot at Hereford/Didcot previously......

Aylesbury United Discussion / Merchandise

I have been thinking about ideas for merchandise which 21CD can order for supporters to be able to purchase, so trying to gauge opinion but organising this vote. There is potential to organise a couple of the options put forward in this vote if the demand is there. Very much open to other suggestions which are put forward.

21CD currently have the following available at the following prices:

- DCUK 1897 baseball caps (New Era) - £8
- Woolly hats (black with club emblem) - £10
- 1 Woolly hat (pink with club emblem) - £10
- T-shirts (white with either club emblem or Aylesbury United FC - The Ducks on front) in junior sizes, XL or XXL - £5 (junior) or £8 adult
- Long sleeve training tops (S, M, XL) - £15
- Pin badges - £3
- #BringTheDucksHome car stickers - £3

Perfect for yourselves, family members, the wife (or partner) or even someone else's wife (or partner)!

I can arrange any of the above items to be posted but with P&P extra. If you are interested in any of the above please DM me on here or email andreasmartini83@yahoo.co.uk

Aylesbury United Discussion / FA competitions

I see we have been given a home tie versus Clanfield 85 or Long Crendon in the FA Cup and home versus Tilbury in the FA Trophy...….

Definitely agree with that summary. Better team in both halves and dominated the second half. Roni Joe was VERY animated last night and could tell he was disappointed in performance from their team. Only player to cause us a couple of problems really was Aaron King.

Robbie Carter was interesting - provided a hold up function and flick ons which I think our attacking players could definitely feed off. Kuda also impressed with a couple of runs down the wing. Whether both could step up against stronger opposition remains to be seen. The additions to squad who have signed look good. Stobbs is tricky with good movement and a good cross. Liam is pretty solid in defence as HtH has highlighted.

I think it is hugely positive that the majority of the last seasons squad is staying. Ben has some difficult decisions to make which in all honesty is a good thing!

Interesting watching players moving about. Some are, I suspect, stepping up above their level.

I see Wantage have been strengthening and may not be the whipping boys whenever footy at our level returns.

Information about the 21CD 50:50 draw has been posted on the club website recently (thanks Luke) including how to register:

It costs £5 a month and one lucky person gets the £100 prize every month. Surplus money raised through this initiative helps support the club. So a chance of winning some cash and also a good way to help the club financially, win/win!

Would be great to see more people join this and help the club further!

Up the Ducks!
