« on: August 11, 2022, 10:53:04 AM »A word of warning about the weather, League regulations direct that it has to be the referee's decision to postpone a match due to weather conditions, so it is unlikely we will get a decision on that until he arrives at the ground.
This in itself is absurd when it comes to excessive heat which is forecasted accurately well in advance. Pretty shambolic if its called off once both teams and most fans have arrived. Anyway will see what happens, thanks for the clarification though Ian! 🥵

« on: August 10, 2022, 02:39:11 PM »Appreciate the heads up Simon even though its relatively local for me! Thought this was going to say that the game's kick off was being changed to earlier or later, given the weather forecast, especially on that pitch.
Yes, that is the other (potential) element - the heat - we will communicate out if/when we hear anything on that!
I believe the forecast is for 35 degrees in Harlow on Saturday.

All,
As some of you may be aware, Harlow have been replacing their 3G pitch this preseason. There has been some delay on this and the tests necessary to allow the game to go ahead will not be undertaken until Friday PM.
Therefore, please ensure you check that the match is on before leaving home on Saturday, as we'd hate for you to make that long journey, only to find there is no match.
We will update the official routes, as soon as we have confirmation from the league.

We've been ground sharing at Chesham for more years than I care to remember surely they would consentIf worse came to the worse pay them a % of takings ......surely they must owe us a favour ??!!
sadly, the facilitates at Chesham are in need of considerable upgrading - they too struggle with match day hospitiality. The two people who used to do it for them have now retired.
Anyway, thanks Graham, we are aware and seeing what we can do.

We did communicate that Bill's Diner wouldn't be there, when we were informed - appreciate that may not have been helpful, if you don't use Tweeter (which I don't).
I will try and find out what (if any) contract is in place and we can review.
As someone who tries to eat healthy, then I'd agree that a broader choice would be good - but lets see what the arrangements look like.

That is a very good question - thank you.
We hope to run one early August. We did try and arrange one at the end of the season, however work and holiday commitments got in the way and made it a challenge.

« on: July 15, 2022, 05:07:40 PM »It's going to a fascinating watch from the outside; two teams either side of Aylesbury battling it out for the top spot in the SSSML, both of whom have a budget higher than most Step 4 clubs, .
Who's your money on? Personally, I would laugh if both are behind a team like Stotfold (who seem to be similarly well backed) at the end of the season.
I think Leighton, they have the better Ex Duck management team.
Depends whether they can hit the ground running, it's largely a new team whereas - presumably - Risborough are mostly the same squad with a few new additions.
"few"? I bet they have over a hundred players now! ;-)

I'm sure many of you will have already seen, however the Club has launched a new website this week which can be found at:

Firstly, the pre-season fixtures are detailed on the new site, plus you will see that the new site includes sections for all areas of the club, juniors, girls, ladies, walking football, etc - bring us all together and allow everyone to see whats happening and get involved in our club.

Danny Power was an ex-Wales under 21 - who went on to play for Tottenhoe in SSML Division 2 when I was at Corries - Gary Simpson played for them too.
