Title: Bostik South Central
Post by: harry the haddock on April 21, 2019, 12:40:05 PM
Apparently the non league forum is suggesting we might get switched to the Bostik South Central next season, so we could meet up again with our old pals from marlow. Has been suggested that this is a lower quality league which might suit us nicely! Any thoughts?

.....for me regardless of whether it's the Bostick or Evo Stick league I'll be glued to whichever league we're in

I like it. You done this before?

I hope Graham gets some stick for that comment.

Still plenty of changes that could happen over the next couple of weeks, and we're right on the borderline of the two leagues, with our neighbours at Berko still in the Southern, so who knows? Always fun to speculate though!

Dunstable are currently expected to be reprieved by a margin of 0.008 points per game according to the magic spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13xevutBR_9D5P27f9cBbVc_6icDZi5tfwuVQhc7msLM/edit#gid=1969373512/). If they actually end up going down, that might well push us back across the league borders!

I agree Leon. They always cock it up will change so many times as usual.

I believe that we may stay where we are because Chesham will be staying in the Southern League.

That's not good news then as if we are losing tre we are going to need to find a goalscorer with zilch money.going to have to hope there are 2 teams worse than us because we are hardly pulling any trees up at present.poor old ben, I do feel sorry for him at times like this. Maybe TyDeacon would like to stay at southern league level?

There will be loads of players floating around. Always difficult to find top goal scorers money counts.

Same forum has Vale Dynamos in the Hellenic next season. Maybe no-one will end up with what they expected next season?!

Dunstable are now in a provisional relegation position after today's results, largely because we're so shit that we lost to the side in 20th, but also because Romford got a point at Grays so are now level on PPG and ahead of Dunstable in the step 4 relegation reprieve league table on goal difference (!). As I said previously, Dunstable going down might well contribute towards us staying in this league.

In more confusing shambles news, Bedford all but confirmed 4th place today, but they and whoever ends up in 5th cannot be promoted, even if they win the playoffs, because they're bottom of the step 4 playoffs PPG table!

Why they couldn't leave it as before heaven knows.

Basingstoke getting relegated to Step 4 today might put a cat amongst the pigeons. By my reckoning, if they get put into the Southern South with everyone further down the M3, that could shove Didcot back into the Southern Central and, if that happens, it may mean that the Ducks end up in the Bostik South Central after all.

I can see we are in the same division but what's happened to our nearest and dearest? Can't see them anywhere

Hellenic league.

We must remember this is all based on one persons opinion on what they think should happen.  The FA will probably have a different view!

League line ups will be announced in the NLP this Sunday but nothing is concrete until the leagues have their AGMs.

Very true. This one is normally right though!

We’re staying in the Southern League and Vale are in the Spartan (as expected by everyone apart from the guy that did the spreadsheet!).

Yes he didn't get it right. A very competive Spartan Leauge as well.

Indeed. I have Vale finishing somewhere between 7th and 11th. Newport Pagnell will bring strength to the division as well.

Bugger.was really hoping we'd get switched to the easier division. I am afraid that we will be in for a long hard season

So, from the spreadsheet projections, our league gained Wantage and Didcot and lost Cambridge and their landlords Histon, which both make geographical sense.

Does look as if they tried hard to transfer as few teams as possible, outside of the geographical reshuffle in the north.

Colney Heath and London Colney in Essex Senior League. Ridiculous to say the least.

Didcot haven't been moved Leon.

I think we can afford to be a bit more optimistic about next season. Not all players are in it for the money and if a team is coached well word soon spreads and players want to join.

Didcot haven't been moved Leon.

No, but I was referring to the predictions, in which they were predicted to be moved. Glad they stayed, as that was the only ground from our division last season that I still hadn't visited!

The Essex Senior League should probably change its name like the Kent and Sussex leagues did, although having said that, I'm not sure we need yet another league with a combination of the words "southern", "eastern" and "counties" in it!

See London Colney appealing. If succesful someone would have to move.  Sure they wont be last either.

I reckon midtable. Looks competitive. Teams don't tend to bounce back straight away either. More than happy for that to continue.

You couldn't make it up. FA issued wrong South Mids and Essex Senior allocation. Revised one has Edgeware and Hadley in Essex Senior and London Colney and Colney Heath back in South Mids.

Hadley rebuffing this and saying the allocations are as of Sunday. What a mess !

Regardless of who they move they'll need to change the name from 'Essex' Senior League.

I see London Colney and Colney Heath  won there appeals!
