Post by: Luke on August 18, 2009, 08:22:08 PM
Bad news that, I was looking forward to tomorrow night's game as well!

Hmm, not good. How quickly can it be put back up? I'll be annoyed if the game with Tiptree gets postponed because of something like this, or anything, but if it happens it happens.

Anyone would think there was a curse on us.  Did anyone see any ex-managers heading towards Leighton Buzzard clutching a hacksaw?   ;D

Will the club be fined for failing to fulfill a fixture?

Hopefully not - circumstances beyond our control, surely?

No it's a simple postponement, same as it would be if there's a freak snow storm this afternoon!

Luke, if we had a snow storm then the match referee or a local referee of the same stardard would call the game off and report his findings back to the league. Clubs can not just call games off willy nilly due to floodlight failure a couple of days before the match otherwise all clubs would do the same if their star striker was on holiday etc.

I take it the club have informed the league about the possible problem and have already informed them before calling the match off.  I have a feeling we might not of heard the last of this! :-\

You may well be right, but it would be very very harsh for the league to penalise us, and I really don't think there will be anything further about it.

Malvern had similar problems last season I seem to remember.

Can anyone tell me whether the problems with the floodlights have been solved, please?
